Interesting potential for iBooks Author

The last week or so I've become taken by the new iBooks Author publishing platform. If you haven't seen it jump over to apple.com and watch some of the demos. So why do I care about textbook, publishing? Frankly I don't. I spent several years in the textbook business and fell they are overdue for a little Apple-like disruption of their business. Athens Ohio Riot Police May 1974

This is a scan of a photo I took on Court Street in Athens, Ohio on May 1, 1974. After the annual Ohio University Music Fesitval, thousands of concert goers were greeted by hundreds of deputized riot police armed with knee knockers (wooden bullets) and tear gas. These jokers thought it would be a good idea to block the street and attack the peaceful crowd. Fortunately I had my camera with me and was able to snap a few photos. Goodbye Delbert Deer

I'm an animal lover. Probably the reason why I gave a name to a badly injured deer I found in my back yard. I called him Delbert. Which made it doubly difficult when I had a local police officer shoot him. That's our local animal warden dragging the poor guy to his final resting place. Shooting around the edges with DxO FilmPack 3

When I attend an event I try to shoot around the edges capturing the action around the main event. That's where I caught these two guys patiently waiting for the wedding cake to be cut at my daughter's wedding last week. I love black and white, so when I received a "special offer" for the new version of DxO Labs' latesest version of FilmPack I gave it a try before the event. How to size images for your web site

With so many WordPress themes including rotating image boxes and other cool display tools, there are many questions about how best to size images. I've had a rash of questions about the best way to size images for some of these odd sized boxes.
